Great Vic Rail Trail treadlies, western section.

Well....any half-arsed dreams of Morning Glory ended with the nerving beep of the alarm clock @ 5.15am, RATZ!

The slumbering Mitsi packed for all eventualities and sprouting a couple of "baguette-fetchers" strapped to its bum cherished the cool 11C, solitary morning run to Yea and on to
the carpark at the Trawool Estate https://bit.ly/3VDxkfT

You packed the 50+ ??

First an up+back to Kerrisdale Mountain Railway Carpark to tie-in with previous treadly-gaspers... :)

Goulburn River sparklers from the old railway terrace

Looks like Mr. Spider had as much Pinot Noir as I did last night.....
That's one farked-up excuse for a cobweb, buddy!

Now on the western drift of the morning....the Aldi basket proving priceless again, keeping the roll of dunny-paper snug+tight. :)

Past the Mitsi again and down the Goulburn River-wrigglies to the Seymour-or-Tallarook road junction...

Treadling above the Goulburn river flats....and there's a little tear looking to the south, there's Pulpit Rock...... I know the turn-off up granite boulders of Landscape Rd. into the Tallarook Forest Park only too well :glu

Welcome sight!....and the "cold drinks" did it for us.
42k's of gentle but continuous up+downs to cover half that distance of the GVR.

Next: the eastern end of the trail... Mansfield-Bonnie Doon,
Another ~40 k's return past The Paps and a few other bits.

Into the garage tomorrow to finally fix that DR dashlights-issue.
Once licked, I'm looking around for some other misfits for a foray into the Strathbogies.
Screw the pedals, hail the twistgrip for that one!

What are the dash lights doing now? Mine seemed to have been good for a while, probably until the next time I start it. Whatever. What day are you planning your Strathbogies foray?

Same question here.

I got sloppy with that screen I bought/ used on the DR.
The first owner made his own screen, full of creases and bubbles...the one I bought was for some big tourer FJ12 or something and the mounting bracket needed some modding, the screen was way too heavy and thick and kept vibrating against the back of the Trailtech dials, cracking the dashlight mounting-frame a few times along the way.
I wondered, but didn't check, just epoxied every time.
Then the vibes took out the TrailTech cluster as well as the clip-on dashlight-frame.
Got the new clocks, but the frame was a Lego-set after the Gippy weekend.

Nearly done fixing all that plus problem solving the real issue behind it.
Should be all good by late tomorrow. Glues/ epoxy and paints drying right now on new brackets/ bracing/ spacers etc

Looking at Wed or Thurs next week (4th/5th Jan), early start around 7ish yo use the cool of the morning and BYO lunch as we could be anywhere around noon and it'll be a longish day.

I’m heading for an overnighter Tues/Wed to camp somewhere that looks nice near Moroka. The place I have in mind is beside the river but if the 4WD people have got there first it may be plan B or C.

For the DR, have a look at Parabellum windscreen. No brackets, easy to fit, looks good and actually works!

Cheers
There seem to be a few different ones in their line-up..
this?

Issue I initially had was that the previous owner had just drilled some willynilly holes through the screen/mask (obviously by sighting only) and the replacement was meant to visually cover all the holes.
So I re-shaped the FJ?/ Versys1000! screen around the bottom and sides as it had that sort of painted speckled black bottom edge that masked all the old holes.

Got a new mask somewhere along the way...so I can start again one day.

By reckoning, we have Kanumbra to Mansfield to ride.

Getting close to 50km, but (being on the eBike) I'm up for it, and (on the eBike), I'll have the capacity to relieve Goodie and you of some of your load.

This would need a little four wheel shuffle, but easy 'nough to sort out. Time and day, flexible but most Fri, Sat or Sun will suit best.
