ah geez.... I've heard of people doing their police report forms creatively ie unexpected loose gravel on the corner while a car forced me to run wide

Yo....same shit everywhere and whatever insurance is involved (as TAC is just a specific insurer )
Just call that potential fine an "excess amount" (which is pretty much exactly what it is)

The reason we insisted on "pressing" the local Bulgarian cops into producing a report and Goodie getting a nominal $25 fine for whatever after pretzeling the 650 Rental on the 2018 Balkans Trip ....the report is in Cyrillic, so it could be a Chili-chicken recipe or Ikea manual, WGAF :)
Aussie travel Insurance was happy and paid the claim after some burping and farting.

As for weighing potential issues and results....you can lodge a TAC claim up to 12 months AFTER the date of accident (keep all relevant medical receipts and docs etc)
if it turns out that medium/longterm medical issues persist.

You have 12 months to lodge a claim from the date of your accident, or the date an injury from your accident first becomes evident. More information, including exceptions to the 12 month time frame, is available in our Making a claim for compensation policy.

If I didn’t have a ton of sick leave up my sleeve, creativity would have reigned supreme.

And a crash on rough gravel with a huge hump in the centre, may have been worth fighting for.

<-- now went that way
Go to another police station until you get one that helps you..

Tell the ones that threaten you with that shit to f-off.. I did.

Same thing happened to me when I dropped the VFR years ago in an inch of gravel brought down during massive storm a few days earlier.

Went to Oakleigh police station, got the same exact response as you, called him a effing clown and walked out, expected to get something thrown at me but didn't.

Then went to Malvern police station, not only did I get the paperwork I needed, I got the offer to report the copper at Oakleigh to the Ethical Standards mob.. I was the second person at Malvern that had the same story from Oakleigh that week and its all over some cop ls are too lazy to do the paperwork, so they scare you away..

And BTW, a kangaroo jumped out and hit your front wheel Doug, didn't it ;)

As much as I hate the TAC, you pay a shit load for it, get your monies worth

Not 1 Kanga-Wu, it was a whole tribe. 50 of them…..

I pretty much came to the same conclusion as you did. They just don’t wanna file a report.

I had rung them back this morning and told them I wish to process it.

Yesterday when I was limping around the cop shop and in pain, I took the easy option.

They did scare me away Tbh.

Now I’m in a slightly better frame of mind, I’m quite pissed at the cops.

I suspect it’ll come to nothing anyway!

Lets see how this pans out.

After all that effort, I only had 1 reasonable photo from the day.

Seems like my Photography skills have gone on holiday with my Motorbike riding skills…

I’m working on getting them both back!!

Nice Doug, and that little stick thing at the back was the camera that gave that snappy video before. What is that SalmonAUS?

That's right!

It's an Insta360 One X2, 360 cameras are getting pretty easy to get these days but in my experience the Insta360 ones are the best looking!
