Marty invited me on this Pete as I havent ridden with a group on trails ever. Just dont get time to ride now days. Alas I woke at sparrows fart (for me) and burled down to Yarra Glen servo and rolled in there at 7.30 on the dot! Alas to nobody there. I then turned on phone to messgae from Marty saying front flat tyre = no show. So I went for ride myself anyways. Will catch up one day.

Hello there!! :gday:

Is that the old "Movin" from Netrider, many, many moons ago?

Bummer
..but if there is no post or sign at all of someone interested to join the ride, we just go with those
that have posted up their intentions here and leave when they're are at the meet.

We don't check the clock...if all that have piped up in the thread are there 5, 15 or 30 minutes early, we're off right there and then as there is nobody else expected.
If not, we'll wait until they're there or msg a last-minute pull-out.

Would've LOVED to catch up!! Hopefully next time!

Correct. Haven't been on NR in literally years. I did however meet my now wife, many, many moons ago at a meeting organised by you about touring, for people who wanted to know more about touring. An old work colleague 'Carver'(Karel), rings me up on valentines day evening and says you should come. You've done heaps of touring. 15 odd years later we're married with a 13 year old lad. Aint motorcycles grand!

Bloody awesome!
Remember when the little tacker was on its way :)
13 now...jeezaz!

Karel...haven't seen anything of him for the last ?10-15 years?....still riding/ traveling?
He posted a couple of bits after the Tornanti_1 Euro ride in 2007, dead quiet ever since.

Yeah, touring (and ADV-touring at that) has become a true lifestyle rather than a "hobby" since those early days :)
Goodie's still at it, too...
Good to see you around again

I did the parallel to Marginal rd today, being Black Range rd. From its beginning at top of first valley from Narbethong side, to its ultimate end where it turns into Scruby creek rd, coming out to bitumen finally near Whanregarwen/ Alexandra way. First 80% of its absolutely fine. Stoney/pebles/gravel. Then about where high voltage power lines start about 90 minutes in from toolangi side, you get about 10km of everyones friend, the hard packed poo brown colour, if it's wet- 'ice clay' as I call it. Apart from that if its dry, its much longer than marginal if you want and alternative and have another couple of hours. But with wet weather fast approaching, grab it while you can. If you had knobbies, be zero issues in wet. Im on Conti TKC70's which as more like 90/10. But still ate it up no probs.IMG_20220425_145817397.jpg
