Northern Duster_Aus Day W/E 27+28 overnighter photos and lies

Well while some are no doubt inebriated in a motel somewhere in Northern Vic here is my one day ride report of a two day ride.

Everybody was shooting at the clouds. Not sure why.

And a bit later on we still had clouds

My bike after having had it's band-aid applied after its little nap.

This is what Donnelly Weir looks like for those who thought chat was better photography.

Interesting phenomenon. Every time I point my camera at a Triumph or owner it takes photos that look old fashioned

See. Did it again

When we got to the lookout above Lake Eildon the view was, well okay. :D

And after lunch (Thanks Fuzzy) I decided it was time to head home and confuse the bike counter people so I wandered back to Thornton then around the back of the Cathedral Ranges. On the way up from Cooks Mill to Sugarloaf Saddle I heard a metallic noise on the gravel road and stopped to find my 12mm allen key on the ground 50m behind the bike. How the hell it came loose from the tool kit and then fell out I have no idea (nothing else was missing). The road from Sugarloaf Saddle down towards Marysville is, ah interesting and displaying a sad lack of maintenance.
When I hit Mt Margaret Road I hung a left to go mup over the saddle and down Lady Talbot drive into Marysville.

The road was in great shape

but some 15km later

the sign on the logs says Lady Talbot Road is closed. Thanks Vicroads. Maybe a little bit earlier with the notice next time perhaps.

From there it was back down the hill. At least I could see the view this way.

Through Marysville, Acheron Way, Warburton, some other roads and home a bit after 5 with around 400 more kms on the speedo.

You've got nooo bloody idea.....how far downhill things can go :killingme:killingme....inebriated? Lucky we didn't finish up staying another night courtesy of the council slammer :bs

Some great shots. Lucky with the weather too. Not too hot.

It sure got hot yesterday arvo....and once past the Black Spur PITA, is was low clouds traded for a haze that wouldn't quit. Bummer, the views from Mt. Wombat would've been something to crack a bottle of shampus for.

Cracker, aye? What a ripper-ride.
And still a good 100k's of ruts, potholes, ridges, stumping views and landscapes to die for and all that on the cheat sheet. :chug:

Fluff it up a bit with another 100k's of backroads to get to the start and it'll be another day worth worth of brilliant riding and snapshooting.

Thanks to everyone for a magic coupla-days!! Also a big thanks to all those who helped out silently along the way, making sure things didn't go astray, the mob was kept together and everyone had an eye on them...it was noted and appreciated very much. Awesome mob to be travelling with. :lao

And thanks to the Spockster for giving me a hand getting The Dishrack back on its wheels again while you bastards frantically scrabbled for the cameras!
:upyrs:

Pics a bit later...bottoms up!:clap::clap:

He's young he will learn. :glu

Funny thing about these Stroms. They seem to like a nap from time to time. I makes me wonder what they get up to while they are parked together.

Sometimes the noises are disturbing...like when hopping and bouncing up Landscape Rd. into the Tallarook State Park W-)

Could'nt give a rats what they're up to in the dark though...as long as they start in the morning :so
