Adventure-Geriatrics....Tassie'26

Waiting at the dam construction: no one around - no driver, no worker - a two lane road thru the construction, but automated traffic lights  ? I hope they don't take it to serious cause I saw someone passing the red light. :newwhistle:

Michael taking the sealed option after yesterday's dirt to cut south towards Dover.

I expect the dirt/ gravel version to be a fair challenge in both navigation and actual tracks/roads riding, much of it through the plantations and forests of the southern Styx.
First towards Geeveston, then past the Hartz mountains straight into the back of Dover.

Nothing to worry about as it turns out, all of it easy as.... apart from those endless dropped trees @ Styx Rd.

Heres a few Samsung pics of Meullers Rd and on to Strathgordon.20260418_094217.jpg

By this stage of the trip. Wet boots were indeed a thing. We were getting used to being soaked through by now.

The front lawn outside the restaurant at Lake Pedder, was not very inviting. The fire inside was deelightful.

Quite a volume of water trapped here. Very clever these ex cons!

Top shot there!
Didn't realize there was snow up on the Southern Range at the time.....still had that dusted Mt. Field summit in my head from the day before.

Agree, Mueller Rd. dished it up again, it just seems to be a place in a parallel universe.

Back to that pic...there was a speedlimit in the roadworks? W-):icon-mrgreen:

Naw, that's Willo. ;)
And he's way too quick on 'em to ever show in a photo :)

There's bakery thread on ADVRide and a meat pie group on Facebook, it's worthwhile getting an update on where the best pies and snag (ie. sausage - for Gero) rolls are located before any road trip.

My best one day effort was four bakeries in one day:
  • Breakfast - a coffee & a pie at Bruthen
  • Morning tea - coffee & snag roll at Orbost
  • Lunch - sandwich & a pot of tea at Bombala
  • Afternoon tea - a coffee at Jindabyne
