Cheers, I'm looking at getting the forks serviced at Choice Suspension in Kyneton, they seem to be a good mob, not sure if I should bother with the rear. Still, trying out a KTM 1290 is like riding a magic carpet with the WP suspension compared to mine, which feels like you're shooting a machine gun with massive amounts of recoil.

I had my DL1000 front and rear suspension rebuilt by Promecha a few years back. He made the orginal front springs progressive drilled a few holes somewhere to help oil flow (cheap man's gold valves) and rebuilt the rear 'un-rebuildable' shock..

I wanted to put a better rear spring in but he said see what improvement just the rebuild would do then decide..

The front was 10x better, the rear was better, but did need a new spring..

Wrote the bloody thing off a few months later..

Replaced it with a KTM 950Adv S, the S had the up spec WP legs, my god, they are worth the money, never ridden a bike so planted on the dirt.

Promecha has some 'interesting' Google reviews.
Very tempted in a KTM for the suspension, just cbf with the bs it comes with issues and hassles with PS. Would be nicer to get something smaller than a 1290 with WP suspension and 19" front.

sorry about the potato quality photos

The guy's a dick and doesn't take well to being told his craft which he is very good at.

Give him your suspension and money (not alot compared to some), tell him you weight and what sort of riding you do, then return and pick up suspension and ride very happy into the sunset.

I had to bite my tongue the four times visited him, but his work and price is worth it IMHO.
